Paul Wilting‘s works depict pictorial spaces on the brink between seeing and touching.  They tell of chaos and of worlds that seem familiar yet remain alien. Working with the overload of simultaneous impressions, the works condense their juxtapositions and layers through collage and painting. Fragments from diverse sources are brought together through paint into lyrical pictorial works.
At its core, the work deals with the compositional question of how individual pictorial signs come together as a whole and at which breaking point this order is disrupted again.

Paul Wilting studied at the Academy of Visual Arts and graduated in 2022 as a master student of Prof. Christoph Ruckhäberle. He lives and works in Leipzig.
